Atlas Copco’s goal with the development of the Cobra Electro was to achieve the highest efficiency, the highest breaking capacity and the best power-to-weight ratio but most important was to make an extremely user friendly tool.
By using Stritorque® technology from HDD Servo Motors, Atlas Copco were able to reach their goals. The new Cobra Electro weights 20% less than its competitors and with its system efficiency of 61,5% has the highest power-to-weight ratio of the industry.
“We are very happy and pleased to have had the opportunity to work with Atlas Copco in the design of an absolute premium product on a very competitive market” says Rolf Ohlsson, Sales & Marketing Manager at HDD. “We have been working together with Atlas Copco in a number of project over the last few years, but this is the first product to reach the market, and it is a product to be proud of.”
“The Ultra Compact properties of the Stritorque® technology together with the high efficiency made the motor from HDD crucial to reaching our goals for this product.” says Tomas Ulander, Business Line Manager for Construction Tools at Atlas Copco. “We see electric tools as a growing market for the future and efficiency and compactness will be decisive factors in reaching market success.
The Cobra Electro was shown at the Bauma 2016 fair in Munich and is planned for product launch in Q3 2016.
The new Cobra Electro not only meets the expectations, but also sets a new standard.
